The hardest Franklin half dollar to find is generally considered to be the 1953-S. While not the lowest mintage of the series, it is known for being difficult to locate in higher grades with full bell lines, which are lines on the Liberty Bell on the coin's reverse that collectors often seek. Its scarcity in high-grade condition makes it particularly desirable among collectors.
